Narrative

The Jackal is an elusive assassin who makes his living committing murders for the biggest bucks. He soon meets his match in the form of a tenacious British Secret Service officer who tracks him down in a thrilling cat-and-mouse chase across Europe. In The Day of the Jackal (1973), the Jackal also drives a white Alfa Romeo, albeit an earlier generation model.

I love anything Eddie Redmayne is in

Referenced in Graham Norton and the Critics: Denzel Washington/Paul Mescal/Saoirse Ronan/Eddie Redmayne/Blossoms (2024). He has a vulnerability that makes me want to dig deeper into the characters. Here, as a cold-blooded assassin, it’s a bit of a stretch, IMHO, but it makes sense as a “hidden in plain sight”.

Neither her acting nor her on-screen persona is worth it

As others have already pointed out, the female lead simply ruined the show for me. Why she keeps getting badass female roles is a mystery to me. We have so many other talented actors to choose from.

Her character doesn’t help either

I didn’t think much of her in Captain Marvel, I liked her even less as 007, and now she just ruins scenes every time she appears. I will watch the series to the end but… it’s so sad that this show isn’t worth watching again.

Season 2 has already been renewed

I don’t know how the story will play out yet, but I hope Bianca’s character gets replaced in some way.
