I enjoyed reading James Patterson’s Alex Cross series
Adaptation of James Patterson’s series of novels about the complex and brilliant detective Alex Cross. Hodge is the third actor to play Cross, following in the footsteps of Morgan Freeman, who made his screen debut in 1997’s Kiss the Girls and again in the 2001 sequel Along Came a Spider; and Tyler Perry as the title character in 2012’s Alex Cross, which bombed at the box office and prompted Lionsgate to scrap the previously planned sequel, Double Cross.
They say my concerns are unfounded
As a fan of the character, when I found out that the books were being turned into a series, I was worried that everything I loved about the books and the character would be ruined, as there are so many film/TV series adaptations. Aldis Hodge is the perfect Alex Cross.
This duality is crucial to an authentic portrayal of Cross
Hodge has the commanding physical presence that is essential to the character, often portrayed as a brilliant thinker and a man capable of holding his own in physical confrontations. His performance reflects a deep understanding of James Patterson’s novels.
The role in the series
Cross captures the essence of her character as a skilled detective driven by a strong sense of justice. Overall, Hodge’s interpretation of Alex Cross combines skilled acting with a strong emotional core, making him an excellent choice for the film.
His performance will appeal to long-time fans of the character and newcomers alike
Cross captures the essence of James Patterson’s novels with compelling storytelling, character depth, and a suspenseful plot that will appeal to long-time fans and new viewers alike.
