Narrative

In 1979, a group of young filmmakers set out to shoot an adult film on a Texas farm, but when their lonely, elderly masters catch them in the act, the group must fight for their lives. The day after South by Southwest premiered, wrote the prequel, Pearl (2022). A24 saw the script and greenlit the film before “X” had even finished production. He asked star Mia Goth if she would like to stay in New Zealand and film “Pearl” and she agreed.

When Lorraine enters the basement and turns on the lights, there is a modern halogen bulb that wasn’t available in 1979. Maxine: I won’t accept a life I don’t deserve. There are no opening texts. The title doesn’t even appear on the screen until it ends.

The characters are mostly unlikable

Decent horror elements, although it’s a little weird and far-fetched and requires some disbelief. They are typical fame-seeking people who drink alcohol and drugs and live “free” with a moralistic attitude.

I like a retro style movie

They lie to themselves to survive by blurring the lines between what they call “work” and real life, but they mostly make a virtue out of necessity. The movie is mostly a relaxed experience. There isn’t much to track or analyze. In conclusion, sit back and enjoy watching.
