(March 22, 1935 – March 19, 2024)
Narrative
Two criminal twin brothers, one of whom is trying to reform, embark on a dangerous heist road trip. Facing legal troubles, shootouts, and family drama, they must reconcile their differences before their mission leads to self-destruction. Last film appearance of actor M. Emmet Walsh (Judge Farful). The brothers had promise and potential.
Really solid cast
It started strong. The plot was quite interesting. I don’t know whether to compare the films to generational classics or the rest of the garbage available on streaming in recent years. I feel like Hollywood never recovered from the writers’ strike and it shows. This film is watchable, due to the low level of content available.
They played their parts
Are comedies now catering to the stupor of the low IQ majority of society? If you like crude humor, like watching a grown man get jerked off by an orangutan, then you’ll enjoy this movie. If you prefer sophisticated and witty humor, you’ll roll your eyes a lot. I don’t fault the actors. Dinklage is a true talent.
I wonder why she wasn’t credited
Brolin does a great job of playing a believable character who isn’t a badass with superpowers. Marisa Tomei is excellent in every way. Fraser even managed to pull off the shady guard. I’ve never been a fan of Glenn Close, but her prime was before my time. Brothers fails to draw you in.
You can’t get invested in the characters’ unrealistic situations
It’s slow and lacks any kind of movie magic that makes you care about the outcome. I’m sure the actors desperately needed a paycheck, but they’re all better than that. There were times, and I managed to get through it, which is saying something, I guess. Your guide to all the new movies and shows streaming on Prime Video in the US this month.
