In a prison where inmates are fed on a descending platform, those on the upper levels take out more than they themselves, while those below them starve, and one man decides to change the system. The film was shot in chronological order as Iván Massagué had to lose 12 kilos (26 pounds) during the six-week shoot to show his physical degradation. Featured in FoundFlix: The Platform (2020) Explained (2020). A very clever and interesting premise, it came up as a horror recommendation, I would rather classify it as a suspenseful thriller. It shows humanity at its worst, basically making the message that you’re good at the top, and as you go down the social order, things just get worse and worse, and those above you slightly better off. and ideologically it is a great triumph, it really makes you think, especially today when it has had such a terrible effect on the whole world. I thought the acting was great, I don’t usually like dubbed movies, but in this case I didn't. I didn’t even notice, I was enjoying it so much. Really fantastic acting. I would have liked to have seen a bit of the people running the regime, but I think they wanted ambiguity. Quality, 9/10.
